It’s not like I was actively rooting for the HVAC equipment to fail. That’s just sort of stupid. However, I can’t say that I was all that bummed out when the HVAC technician told me it was time for new heating and cooling equipment. When we bought this house, the seller was just adamant about not replacing the worn out HVAC unit. It got to the point that we walked away from the deal as he wouldn’t negotiate that point either. Whether it was the realtor or a family member, somebody changed the seller’s mind and he replaced the HVAC equipment. Yet, he replaced it with some pretty middle of the road residential HVAC. The HVAC equipment that we got with the house wasn’t the worst but it so wasn’t the best either. So for the last 22 years, I’ve been sort of waiting for the HVAC unit to give out. That finally happened and I was ready. Once the old HVAC unit turned like 18 years old, I started saving and thinking about the new HVAC upgrade. I did my research and my wife and I had our new residential HVAC all picked out. Finally, we got what we wanted when it came to HVAC technology. Not only does the new heat pump have the highest SEER rating in its class, there is so much more new HVAC technology. We have zone controlled HVAC in the house now. And there is a smart thermostat to run the show for us. We couldn’t be happier to finally have just the sort of heating and cooling we’ve wanted for a long time.
