I almost killed my HVAC with a dumb mistake

But that also ended up with myself and others nearly making a huge error that almost destroyed our brand new heat pump.

So far I have loved being retired. But that was not a certainty when I was faced with this newest chapter in my life. For forty years, I worked inside a commercial HVAC of an office. Actually, I started out working in the mail room where there was genuinely little in the way of air conditioning. But by the time I retired, I had a corner office that even had its own temperature control. My career was my passion in a lot of ways. Of course, my family was my ultimate focus even though I also sacrificed a whole lot with all the hours I put in inside the commercial HVAC of that office. So I really didn’t think that it would be enjoyable to not have that passion that motivated myself and others each and every afternoon. That’s why I went into retirement with a bit of hesitancy. My wifey and I had always wanted to retire in the south. So we upgraded the HVAC components in the family household and sold it for a genuinely enjoyable price. And then we were off to a new adventure way down south as we embraced retirement. Interestingly enough, I really got into having a garden. We live far enough south that we have a genuinely mild winter season and there really is no off season. So my wifey and I have really found a passion with landscaping our property. But that also ended up with myself and others nearly making a huge error that almost destroyed our brand new heat pump. Somehow in my mind, it seemed to be an enjoyable thing to toss the tarp I was using over the HVAC cabinet so it could dry out. But then I forgot about it right away. Of course, the air conditioning came on and I was quite lucky to pull that tarp off of there before I choked out my HVAC equipment.
