There are a few things I do to prepare myself for cold and flu season each year.
I always make sure to get a flu shot, as well as get a bottle of vitamin C and an immune boosting supplement.
If I manage to contract something, I find this combination is extremely effective at weakening the symptoms and shortening the time you’re sick. But, the trick is keeping your consumption consistent, as you don’t want to skip days at a time to lose the natural immunity your body is building up to the viral intruder. I try to make sure that I keep a good supply of both supplements on hand during the cold and flu season each year. Unfortunately, that’s only half of the battle for me in my annual preparations. I also try to get my entire HVAC system serviced before late autumn rolls around. One of my fears is having a really rough cold some year and barely breathing amongst the sinus congestion. And then right as you hit the worst part of the sickness, your air conditioner or furnace suddenly breaks down, leaving you without relief for days at a time when you absolutely need it the most. You can avoid running into an issue like this if you just think to have your system inspected and serviced before it could ever become an issue. On top of that, this is usually coinciding with the cold winter season, which gives you even more reason to make sure your central furnace is not getting ready to break down on you at any given moment.
