I have been working as an HVAC technician for nearly fifty years, and I am pretty convinced that it is time for me to retire.
I love being an HVAC technician, but I have been doing it for a long time, and I am ready to step away from the HVAC company.
That doesn’t mean that I might not fix my own HVAC units or repair my family’s HVAC units, but I don’t think that I can keep up with the work that the HVAC company expects from me. Thankfully, I am not the owner of the HVAC company, and the boss knows that I am ready to retire. He hasn’t made me work the crazy hours as an HVAC technician that I used to work when I was younger, and he has been very lenient with my schedule for the HVAC company. However, I know that the HVAC company needs younger HVAC technicians, and I am already old enough to retire. Ever since I have been working for the HVAC company, I have been putting away a little money into a retirement plan, and when I quit my job as an HVAC technician, I should be a millionaire. Also, I will still have social security to draw from after I retire, so I don’t really need to work for the HVAC company. It has been a long 50 years with the HVAC company. I have beat my body up installing and climbing through buildings with HVAC units and parts, and I have worked overtime for most of my career as an HVAC technician. I used to have enough energy to do it, but my body is getting old. I am ready for retirement.
