I brought a space heater with me to work

I hope my boss does not kill me for using a space heater in my office at work, but I don’t think that she will.

It has been much colder in our area lately than usual, and my office does not like to heat up very well.

I have the thermostat set for seventy degrees, but my office is still quite chilly. It is hard for me to get work done on the computer when my fingers are too cold to type. I would have asked permission before bringing my space heater to work, but my boss is on vacation, and I did not want to bother her with such a silly question. I have been working for her for over fifteen years now, and we have developed a great friendship, so I am not worried that she will fire me or anything like that. I just feel bad for spending her money on electricity to run my space heater. I know that she would never ask me to pay for it, but I also know that I will be able to read her face and tell if she is disappointed in me or not. If she seems at all upset about me using the space heater, I am going to ask her to take some money out of my paycheck to pay for the increase in the electric bill this month. I wish that I did not have to bring a space heater to work, but it is just too cold in my office for me to get the things done that I need to get done, especially because I am doing more this week since she is on vacation.
