My best friend is my roommate, and I don’t remember a time when she wasn’t in my life. We met in elementary school, went to separate middle and high schools, and reunited in college. As freshman, we lived in separate dorm rooms, but when sophomore year rolled around we decided to rent an apartment together. We remained roommates throughout the remainder of college, and we’re still roommates to this day. I love my best friend and don’t know what I’d do without her, but if I’m being honest, she’s a horrible cook. For as long as she can remember, she’s been awful at cooking. Bless her heart, she can’t even make a simple bowl of spaghetti without burning the sauce or getting the noodles stuck to the bottom of the pan. When we first moved in together, her cooking became unbearable. The smell of burnt food was always lingering, and it got so bad that my clothes began to smell like fire. In order to help the cause, I went out and purchased two UV air purifiers. I wanted one to remain in my bedroom and one to sit between the kitchen and living room. A UV air purifier would help eliminate the smell from our apartment, keeping the air fresh and clean. As a bonus, the air purifiers would eliminate any particles floating around the apartment that were getting through the HVAC air filter. I wasn’t sure if the landlord was keeping up with regular HVAC maintenance, so the air purifier was a relief. The odors from my best friend’s horrible cooking wasn’t eliminated entirely, but the UV air purifier helped a good deal.
