Yesterday, my husband was trying to do some tune ups on our HVAC system.
He’s not an HVAC technician or anything like that, but he is pretty handy to have around the house.
He knows what he’s doing, for the most part. I don’t know a thing about our furnace or air conditioning system, though. So when he asked me if I would run out to the hardware store to get new air filters for the furnace and the A/C unit, I was happy to help him out. I wanted to save him some time because as soon as he was done working on the HVAC system, we were supposed to go out to the movies. So I went to the hardware store and made my way to the heating and cooling supplies aisle. Once I got there, though, I was completely overwhelmed by all of the different air filters that they had! I couldn’t believe that there were stacks and stacks of furnace filters and filters for air conditioning units. I had no idea which one I was supposed to get for our HVAC unit, and so I just stood there like an idiot. I tried to call him to see which air filter was the right one for us, but of course he didn’t answer the phone. I remembered that the furnace room in the basement has no cell service and so he wouldn’t be able to tell that I was calling. I took a wild guess and chose an air filter that said it was an allergen removing air filter.
