I just don’t get it. I tend to be super sensitive when it comes to sizable variations in HVAC. My spouse is a sizable guy plus seems to never get freezing when I am just freezing my buns off. I kid him that it’s his layer of blubber that keeps him warm. Me, on the other hand, I recognize like I’m freezing more often than not. Granted, we live in the north so much of the year, I have every reason to be cold. While it is true that we have a wonderful HVAC plan with a powerful gas furnace, I still have a taxing time shaking the freezing while in the winter. But it’s not just the Wintertide either. Even while in the summer, I find myself reaching for a hoodie some nights. The two of us try to keep the HVAC cooling set to where it doesn’t run all afternoon. However, our spouse enjoys it cool to sleep plus I often feel a slight chill while wonderful in front of the TV. Yet, it’s nothing compared to the dentist’s office. That locale is always freezing whether it’s the dead of Wintertide or a hundred degrees outside. Going to the dentist is not something I like to do anyway, so the freezing temps in the office makes it even worse for me. The last time I was in there, I absolutely asked the dentist why in the world it was always so freezing in there. The answer caught me by surprise. They keep it so damn cold on purpose. The reason being that the warmer the air, the more humidity. The humidity then allows bacteria plus viral growth to take place much more readily than in an office where the HVAC is going most of the time. Who knew?
