Yesterday, while walking through the park I came across a fitness class that was in session.
It was actually a yoga class with about 10 to 15 people.
I stood and observed them for a bit purely out of interest. I was so fascinated with the level of focus, flexibility, and balance that the participants had. I have never done yoga before, but I know it’s more than your average workout routine. The practice is more spiritual, and it focuses on health and wellness for the mind, body, and soul. After watching the class for a few more minutes, I continued with my walk, but my mind was still on the yoga class. So, after I got home, I decided to do some research to determine if this was something that I would like to do. Well, to my surprise it is more beneficial than I initially thought. Apparently, yoga can reduce stress levels, improve mental health, reduce inflammation in the body, boost immunity, and so much more. There are so many benefits to this practice, but the one that stood out to me most is that it can improve sleep. I have been having some issues going to sleep and then staying asleep for the entire night. So, when I wake up in the mornings, I feel like I need another 3 hours of sleep. If yoga could help to fix this issue, then I am willing to give it a try. I just signed up for my first session with the instructor that I saw at the park yesterday. Wish me luck!
