For our anniversary, my partner obtained myself and others a Minah bird. I didn’t guess that you could teach a bird to talk, but he had already acquired a small vocabulary before the two of us got him. He was used to yelling, ‘Get Out!’ whenever someone came in the house. He would shout, ‘It’s that woman!’ if he heard a woman’s voice. I thought it would be fun to teach him other phrases. Within multiple years, he was saying nice morning to myself and others plus my partner, plus calling us by name. When I got him to say Nevermore, I thought it was cute. Unluckyly, the only time he would say Nevermore, was when the Heating plus A/C worker was at the house. I found this out when the Heating plus A/C worker came to discuss installing a current air conditioner unit. The two of us started getting into the pricing according to efficiency plus tonnage, plus Bill yelled Nevermore to the Heating plus A/C worker. Whenever money was mentioned, Billy yelled Nevermore. The Heating plus A/C worker laughed plus said the two of us had a pretty smart bird, but my partner wasn’t laughing. He told myself and others that if the bird said Nevermore one more time, he was going to be tomorrow’s supper. He whistled plus said nevermore again, but this time he meant it. He didn’t say it again while the Heating plus A/C worker was discussing pricing with us. Two afternoons later, billy got out the window. The Heating plus A/C worker was knocking on our door, plus he asked if the two of us lost something. He said he knew the bird was ours, because he sat on his maintenance van yelling nevermore.
