Did you know that a ceiling fan could save you money on your energy bill? According to the experts, if you use a ceiling fan in addition to your HVAC unit, you can easily raise the temperature on the thermostat by up to 4 degrees without sacrificing any comfort. So, not only are ceiling fans stylish, but they can also put some money in your pocket. Personally, I use a ceiling fan when I go to bed, and I can confirm that since I have been using the fan, I can sleep comfortably with my thermostat set to 76 degrees. Prior to getting my ceiling fan installed, I slept with the thermostat set to 72 degrees. And yes, I am happy to confirm that I have seen a drastic change on my energy bill. I honestly wish I could stop using my HVAC unit and rely solely on the ceiling fan, but since I don’t live in a state where the weather is always pleasant outside, a ceiling fan by itself can’t provide the needed comfort. In fact, ceiling fans can create heat inside the home by pushing the hot air from the top of the room to the bottom. So, unless these brilliant manufacturers can figure out a way for fans to provide the same level of cooling as an HVAC system, they can only be used in addition with the HVAC unit for added comfort. I will always use a ceiling fan, not only are they stylish and add value to a room, but they also lower the amount of my energy bill, which is a clear win.
