I guess a lot of people might be surprised to find out that a lot of mail carriers don’t have cooling systems or even heating systems in their vans. And so I was surprised to find this out because my partner works for one of the mail delivery companies. He has driven a hot, uncomfortable van around this town for over nine years now. In the very beginning, it was legitimately rough for him and he would have to use those cooling towels that you put on your neck all afternoon long. He said they do help cool him off somewhat! The work van that he has also has a little fan however it doesn’t legitimately do all that much! So every afternoon he gets home, takes a shower, and then he will sit there right in front of the cooling system vent. He doesn’t know that I do this, but when I know he’s on the way home, I will crank the cooling system down about 10 degrees about the same time he is leaving from his work. I want him to be nice plus comfortable after having to work outside in the heat all afternoon long. However, recently I found out that my shift at my job is going to be increasing. I do work in a comfortable office so this is no big deal; Except for the fact that I won’t be at our house so that I can crank down the cooling system for my partner anymore. I suppose that we could probably just leave the cooling system at 65 degrees all afternoon long, however that seems like a big waste of money if no one is home. Just recently, I came across an ad for smart thermostats. I would be able to program a smart thermostat to start cooling down at my partner’s quitting time. I could even control the smart thermostat from my workplace or my car if I wanted to. I legitimately love that. I suppose I will have our Heating and A/C supplier come out to install a smart thermostat immediately.
