When I accept friends in my life, I’m not looking for people who are always trying to take advantage of me and my situation.
I have had fake friends like that who only reach out to you when they need something from you.
I can’t deal with people like that. I happen to be an HVAC technician, so when people learned that, they automatically wanted to be my friend thinking they were going to get free HVAC repair services from me. I don’t mind giving out advice and helping out people who help me out in return, but there is never going to be a free ride with things like that. I made it a point to remove anybody like that from my life. I do have a lot of great friends in my life though, people I have known long before I ever decided to become an HVAC technician. One of my friends is actually the one who suggested that I go and get my HVAC certification. I actually looked into a lot of DIY HVAC system maintenance and repair work when I was younger and I was pretty good at working on HVAC systems. My buddy was impressed with my skills and was telling me that I could make a lot of money in the HVAC industry. He was right, and I’m thankful he made the suggestion because I wasn’t even thinking about it. I have to tell you, that’s a real friend, somebody who is really looking out for you and your future. We still hang out all the time and watch football.
