I was lucky enough to get a mother-in-law that I absolutely loved.
There was something about her that drew me in and made me feel like one of her family.
I had lost my mom when I was very young and she seemed to fill some of that emptiness in my life. Even after all of these years, she is still calling to check on us and she has never forgotten a single birthday or anniversary. She will call to ask me what I want for my birthday or for Christmas. I try not to answer because I think that she is the best gift I have ever been given. She always comes with amazing that surprise me with her thoughtfulness. Last year, she bought us some insulated drapes for in our bedroom. Insulated curtains were supposed to help keep the solar heating out during the summer and keep the air conditioning inside. During the winter the curtains were supposed to keep the cold out of the house and the heat inside the house. I wasn’t so sure the drapes were going to make any difference in our bedroom, until after I had them hung. I kept them tightly closed and I noticed a huge difference in how much our air conditioning unit was running. Our air conditioning was running less and we were noticing a difference in our energy bills. I am anxious to see how much of a difference it is going to make in our heating bills. If the insulated curtains do during the winter, what they did with the air conditioning, I’ll be looking to buy insulated curtains for the entire house.
