I am not sure about the exact age of our gas furnace, but I suppose it’s old.
- This gas furnace came with the house, which I bought 13 years ago.
When I asked our Heating, Ventilation, as well as A/C professional how old he thought our gas furnace was, he said he could not tell for sure. Obviously, every one of us knew it was at least 13 years old. However, by looking at it closely, he guessed it was about 15 years old. I didn’t savor how old it was, because I never knew when it was going to stop running… Every fall, when I switched on the gas furnace after a long season of it sitting in silence, I feared it not turning on at all, or needing service hastily after. The Heating, Ventilation, as well as A/C professional asked myself and others a few questions about the gas furnace before suggesting anything, and first, he wanted to suppose how often it needed to be repaired. Then, he wanted to suppose about our yearly utility bills. I told him that it needed to be repaired at least twice per season as well as that our utility bills seemed to get higher as well as higher as the years passed by, and based on our answers, the Heating, Ventilation, as well as A/C professional advised that I look into buying a new one at the end of the season. It was costing myself and others more money to keep our new gas furnace rather than buying a new one, then a brand new gas furnace would cost more upfront, but it would save myself and others money in the long run. I suppose it’s time to beginning saving!
