I know I had all my buddies curious when I told everybody to come over to my house to see my new toy. It wasn’t really a toy, but it was something that I was excited to have installed in my home. It was a ductless mini split system with 4 zones. Of course, my buddies didn’t know they were coming over to be recruited with my little DIY installation project. I purchased a specific model that is DIY which comes pre-filled with a compressed refrigerant. When you hook up the lines securely, then you are able to release the refrigerant into the system without the need of a professional HVAC technician. So I managed to talk most of my buddies into helping me out. One said that they knew nothing about installing HVAC equipment, but I said there was no need to worry because I knew exactly what to do and how to do it. I watched numerous HVAC installation videos for ductless mini splits and I also read the instructions very carefully. So we all worked at it and we were done about 8 hours later. I made BBQ chicken for everybody and had plenty of cold beers. Everybody was actually glad they worked on the project because they could now add the fact that they installed an HVAC system on their resumes. Also, we were all proud of our work and the fact that the HVAC system was working so well. I love being able to have customized temperature control settings in each zone of the house.
