I wasn’t wild about air travel prior to the pandemic.
Now, I may have flown for the last time.
I’m sure that there is a opening the people I was with and I might go overseas. But, unless that happens, I’ll be driving. The road trip went from fun in our youth to boring and now back to fun. No youngsters to haul around anymore from one Heating and Air Conditioning controlled environment to another. Those afternoons, I don’t miss. Now, I can set the heating & cooling settings just the way I want. It helps that our automobile has dual Heating and Air Conditioning zones. I tend to run a bit hotter than our wife so, this keeps her from having to wear a overcoat going down the road. This is not any sort of option on an airplane. I just haven’t been more uncomfortable during plane trips that I have been in the last 4 or 5 years. I don’t have the money to lay up front so, I get squeezed into a too small seat. It’s just so hot in there. The Heating and Air Conditioning plan just seems totally overwhelmed. I can’t even get any relief with that little air nozzle above your head. I just think of the big germ stream that is blowing directly into our face. No, I think the people I was with and I may be done with the air travel. It’s just such a more pleasant experience rolling down the road with it just being myself and our wife. The company and conversation is much better. And, of course, the air conditioning or heat levels are particularly dealt with. I think this will be the new normal in travel for us once that is safe to do again.
