I have been working in the heating and air conditioning business for over 40 years now. Life as a heating and air conditioning worker has its ups and downs. I started out being an independent heating and cooling specialist. This means that I worked for myself, ran my own HVAC business and was my own boss. I was able to do this for about 10 years in the beginning and then things started to not go so well. Business was dying due to a lot of competitive nature going on around me. So I threw in the towel so to speak and went to work for a heating and air conditioning company as one of their most certified heat and a/c specialists. For the last 30 years I have been working for them and things have been decent. I am going to be retiring next year and have to say that it has been a long and interesting ride living life as a heating and air conditioning specialist. Would I have done anything different if I could do it all again? Probably I would have. I may have done a few things different to be successful as an independent heating and air conditioning specialist for my entire life as an HVAC worker if I knew what I knew now. But so is life. All in all I am happy with how my life went and I did enjoy my work as a heating and air conditioning specialist even with the downers that I dealt with at times.
