Slowly, Inch by inch, I’m doing our best to get past this innate resistance to embracing modern technology more fully.
I am sure there are plenty of other people our age who are dealing with this same thing. Being in our early sixties, all the technology used to be considered nerdy. This was just the way it was back when I was young. Now, the nerds are ruling the roost. So I am doing our best to get along with those nerds recognizably when it comes to the heating and cooling comfort of our home. Just last Spring season, I finally relented to our spouse and her desire to have a smart thermostat. I had been quite resistant to all sorts of the latest in Tech gadgetry. However little by little, I am getting more comfy with having technology be an everyday part of our life. Accordingly, it felt right to welcome some more current HVAC technology to the home as well. Each time I have been quite reluctant when it came to technology, it ended up being beneficial. This is also the case whenever it comes to the HVAC technology for residential HVAC. I was upset that I would buy a new smart thermostat only to have it be obsolete a year from now. But I suppose it was also about climate control. I have regularly been in charge of the thermostat. This is because I have been the guy to try to rein in the heating and cooling cost in our house. So I was the 1 who l gained wisdom how to program the digital thermostat. I was on top of the thermostat settings until now. But I am satisfied to report that the smart thermostat outdid myself and others when it came to saving on air conditioning costs this summer. And a smart thermostat is now a part of the home.
