I run an HVAC company.
We are a family owned and operated business with just four technicians.
While we are a smaller operation, we’ve built a very loyal client base. Our customers know that we put their best interests first. When they ask if it’s the right time to replace their furnace, we tell them the truth. When they enroll in a maintenance plan for their heating and cooling systems, we make sure it’s a worthwhile investment. I was happy with the size and scope of the business. A little over a year ago, my son got NATE-certified and completed all of the necessary licensing and qualifications to join our team. He immediately started talking about expanding, evolving and improving. At first, I resisted. I didn’t want to make changes. I didn’t really understand when he started talking about an online presence and social media platforms. I gradually came around to his suggestions. I knew that to support two families and remain competitive, our HVAC business needed to keep up with the times. People no longer look in the phone book or check the newspaper for heating and air conditioning services. They use Google and call whatever company shows up on the first page. They want the ability to fill out contact pages. They want to be able to browse our services and know that we provide 24/7 emergency repairs, residential and commercial application, duct sealing and indoor air quality solutions. This requires an updated and user-friendly website that pops up on page one of Google. We needed to build a social media presence. Fortunately, my son took website design and SEO classes in college. We didn’t need to hire an outside business to handle our promotion.
