Working from beach condo has absolutely made me change our priorities. I no longer jump out of bed, rush to the shower, slam down a cup of Dunkin Donuts Latte & hit the road. Instead I spend the afternoon in our comfy clothes, listen to the parakeets outside our window & like logging on to our worksite from our kitchen table. If I have a video meeting I attempt to make myself presentable & make our surroundings look as professional as possible with many young children running around the house. There has been another upside to this situation as well. I am able to schedule repairs being done around our condo because I am consistently here. I no longer need to ask the boss for time off to meet a worker or repairman & so long as they are fairly quiet I can continue our workday as usual. My beach condo has absolutely benefited from our new labor schedule. Just the other afternoon I was able to have the Heating & Air Conditioning corporation come in & not only perform routine service however wash our air duct as well. Most of this was done from the basement where they accessed the method so I barely heard a thing… What normally would have required our taking a personal afternoon to have accomplished was done while I was still logged on to our office. I have decided that I could really come to adore this whole working remotely lifestyle in many ways as I am sure others are discovering as well. Part of me also misses the afternoon to afternoon interaction with adults as well so I am also looking forward to returning to a somewhat normal existence too.
