I never in a million years thought I would actually be in danger from the space heater, but the space heater was the one to prove me wrong.
I’m not sure how it happened but my space heater caught on fire, I’m just so incredibly thankful that I was around when the fire started because if I had not been around, my entire house could have burned down.
What happened was I started to smell smoke in the house when I was upstairs and so I ran downstairs and I saw a reddish orange glow and I looked and I saw that my space heater was on fire and it had already caught the curtain next to it on fire as well! The fire head I already started to spread throughout my home although thankfully it only covered a small area. I immediately went and got the fire extinguisher and put it out. I got rid of the space heater after that incident that same day. I was really lucky and even though it was only a small fire that I was able to easily put out it still scared me. I think if I need any kind of heating system I’m just going to continue using my oil furnace that I have. My oil furnace has been working well for me this entire time and I was hesitant about getting a space furnace anyways. When the winter came I used my oil furnace all winter long without any issues. Ever since the fire with my space furnace happened I’ve been very careful about any Heating units and I’ve also warned my friends about using space heaters.
