I actually thought that I would actually be able to install a brand new control unit for our house.
- I was eager to install the smart control unit that I just bought, because I could control the HVAC system from my iphone.
I thought that this would be super awesome. When I looked up how to install the control unit I purchased, the website told me that it would be as simple as installing a light switch or receptacle. Sadly, they didn’t factor in that I didn’t have enough wires to hook up my new smart thermostat. I attempted to take the HVAC system apart to see how to add different wires, but when I searched the HVAC system, I realized that the HVAC serviceman that wired our HVAC system did it in a messy way. I told my wife that I’d have to call an HVAC serviceman to have him install the new smart thermostat even though it would cost us. When she asked me what was wrong with my control unit, I told her. Apparently, she had experience with thermostats that I didn’t know about and was willing to help me. She rapidly installed our control unit, but even though the wiring was a mess, she apparently spent her entire life fixing the HVAC system at her own home because her family couldn’t afford to hire an HVAC serviceman. I asked her to show me how to do a few things, and she was more than willing to teach me so that I’d know for the future. I have a fantastic wife.
