Need to replace HVAC filters

I can always tell when my HVAC filters need to be replaced.

It is usually about every 3-4 months.

Replacing my HVAC filters has become an easy task as I have done it many times in the past. While my husband was not away on work trips, I would find myself having him do all of the maintenance tasks around the house. But, when he was away, it was up to me to learn how to do all of the maintenance tasks. I am usually able to tell that my HVAC filters need replacing by the duration of time the air conditioning unit stays on during the day. If the system comes on for a little while and turns off for the same amount of time, that usually means that the HVAC system is filtering well and properly cooling the house. If the HVAC system stays on for a long time and then comes back on shortly after that, that usually means that something is not right. However, this is not always the case. This is usually true during the summer months when the temperatures rise to higher than usual. Another sign that these HVAC filters need to be replaced is if I start to notice my kids sneezing more than usual. This is not always a sign of a dirty HVAC filter, but it is often a sign of it. My kids are sensitive to allergens and dust, so when the HVAC filter starts to gather more dust than usual, their allergies kick it and they sneeze and cough a lot more than usual.
