No AC, no vacation

A couple of weeks ago, my friends came to me and told me they wanted to go away for spring vacation.

I loved the idea, but I was worried about where they wanted to go. I knew that they wanted to head to the Bahamas where it was going to be hot and humid. I told them I would go if they got a hotel that had excellent air conditioning. We looked around for different hotels and we found a good one that boasted their good air conditioning. I was happy to be able to find a good hotel even if it was a bit more expensive. It was still close to where the partying was happening, and yet we knew it was a quality place to stay. We were all ready to go to the hotel when we got a phone call from the travel agency we had booked through. They told us a storm hit the area and knocked the air conditioning unit out. They were going to be closed for a couple of days while the HVAC system was replaced. I didn’t want to go to any other hotel unless they also offered excellent air conditioning. My girlfriends thought I was crazy that I would refuse to go on vacation because we couldn’t get into our hotel room for a couple days. I didn’t care what they thought, I was going to call the alternate hotel and question them about their air conditioning. They may not care about being cool and comfortable, but I do and I wanted to make sure the AC was available.
