We don’t get much need for heating from the heat pump
Having gotten on board with paying attention to my health and wellness, I’ve learned a lot over the last couple of years. When you spend a few decades sitting inside the air conditioning of your home office all the time. It takes a while to get the body to respond to change. Initially, I didn’t want to stand up at my desk. But I got one of those desk risers so I’m not sedentary all day inside the commercial HVAC of the office. Yet, by the time I got home, I was wiped. The last thing I wanted to do was to leave the cooling comfort of my house for exercise. That’s what it took though. I’d come home and want to do nothing more than collapse in my recliner and soak up every bit of residential HVAC that I could. And while doing that, I just wanted beer, sandwiches and chips to be coming to me. Of course, that’s just not how you get to where you’re not ruining your health. It takes a bit of commitment to get up and moving. For the first 7 or 8 months, I was just sort of thinking that my body would never respond. But again, not taking care of yourself for 20 plus years will do that. So I’m pleased to say that I’m about to roll into my first spring in decades where I really feel good. I live in a region where I get to spend much of the time outside. We don’t get much need for heating from the heat pump. That’s the sort of perfect weather we get here. But soon I’ll be changing up my outdoor activity to the mornings and evenings in order to avoid the peak heating hours of the day.
