Nothing worked as well as the original HVAC equipment.

I told my husband I didn’t like the new HVAC system we had installed.

I didn’t think it was as quiet as our old HVAC equipment, and I didn’t think it cooled or heated as well.

My husband told me nothing works like the original HVAC equipment, but the old system died, and we need to get used to the new HVAC system. Secretly, I think he liked the new HVAC system better. He had been sleeping better since the new HVAC system was installed. He told me he felt safer with the new HVAC system, because he wasn’t worried about it failing in the middle of the night. He wasn’t concerned there would be late calls for emergency repairs, or extra money being put out for emergency repairs. I thought we were dismissing our old HVAC system too quickly. It had done us well for over twenty years and it didn’t let us down until five years ago. It was like a part of the house, and now it was gone. My husband reminded me it was just a piece of property. Metal and electronics put together to do a job for us. It was a job that kept us warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It was time to let it go, and get some rest. I was sad to see it go, but I had to respect what my husband said. After all, it was an HVAC system, and not a member of the family. I still cried when I watched the HVAC technician put it on the truck and take it away.
