I felt bad for her
I felt so sorry for my sister. She had visions of perfect weather when she planned an outdoor wedding. Fortunately, she took precautions. She had a canopy placed over the area where the bride and groom stand and the guests sit. I convinced her to do that because May through August is rainy season here and she insisted on being a June bride and having an outdoor wedding. Unfortunately, even with the canopy, the wedding was a disaster. The rain caused the air to be uncomfortably humid, on top of the heat. And, what my sister didn’t think about was that the guests would have to walk to their cars in the rain. Which ruined the reception. So, here we have what should have been a beautiful wedding ceremony that couldn’t be heard over the rain. Then the guests got soaking wet walking to their cars and arrived at the wedding reception drenched, freezing from the air conditioning. The reception was in a beautiful banquet hall in a fancy motel and my sister asked to have the maintenance man turn the a/c down because her guests were wet and cold. He certainly did! He thought my sister wanted the temperature down and her wedding guests froze out! After about an hour into the reception, my sister realized what happened and asked the a/c to be turned up. Then, it got too warm and stuffy. By the end of the day, my sister was in tears. I felt bad for her. A lot of her guests were uncomfortable because of the a/c problem and that just added to her sadness. I promised her that I would help her more when she chose to renew her vows and things would run much more smoothly.
