Roof restoration to keep the history

For years I had relied on a terracotta roof on the house.

It was there when I initially purchased the lake house.

This happened nearly 20 years ago but now it’s starting to look a little worn. I have called a few roofing corporations & most of them want to tear off that pretty terracotta roof & change it. I do not want to lose the look of it. I like how some of the tiles look faded & I absolutely want to keep the house’s history in place. That’s why I’m glad that I recently came across a roofing business that is proficient in roof restoration. They said that they can restore the roof to its original form while keeping as many of the original tiles as possible. I absolutely liked this idea so I gave them the go-ahead to start on my new shingles. Then I watched as they worked. After all, I did not trust them not to just start throwing away that good, ancient, terracotta roof tiles. But sure enough, they were very good with my terracotta roof. I would save around 50% of the original tiles were saved. I can hardly tell which tiles are the new ones either because they blend in so well. Now our roof does not leak however it looks like no task was done at all. This is exactly what I hoped to have. I was also cheerful that the roofing company let me keep the damaged tiles. I was able to make a pretty nice walkway in the garden using them. That way, these old tiles stay with my house.
