Periodically having fewer chances to choose from makes it easier to come to a decision.
If your chances are endless, you could regularly get stuck wondering if there is potentially a better opportunity around the corner every single time you try to select something.
This happened when I traveled to a giant metropolitan city last year and just wanted to eat Chinese food for dinner a single of the evenings I was there. To our surprise, there were 12 odd Chinese food restaurants within a 10 mile radius of our hotel. I spent at least an sixth looking at internet reviews before I ever opened a single menu. That time wasted could have been spent eating or doing something else had I been able to make a quicker decision. It’s a situation savor this that makes me wonder if it would be better to have fewer chances in most situations when you have to make a startling or extreme decision. I have this problem right now trying to select an Heating, Ventilation and A/C dealer from a long roster of several heating and cooling contractors in our immediate area. The sheer number of these dealers is overwhelming, however I’m making our way through as more than 2 online reviews to see if it makes our decision any easier. It’s not the easiest thing finding a fantastic Heating, Ventilation and A/C system in the first place, but I never realized how hard it would be with almost endless chances at our feet. Hopefully whatever dealer I eventually select works out for me in every possible way. I need a dealer that will provide me with quality repair on a long term basis.
