Should Have Replaced My Furnace Last Year

I wish I would have had my furnace replaced last winter instead of waiting until now. My HVAC contractor told me that my furnace was completely dead and that it would never turn on again, but even upon hearing this, I thought it was better to wait. In my mind, I had plans of saving money all spring and summer so that I wouldn’t need to take out a loan for the furnace. While I did manage to save some money for the new furnace, it’s still a big purchase that I hate spending. I also had the awful dread of having my furnace replaced hanging over my head for almost an entire year. Even if I would have taken a small loan to pay for a new furnace, the loan wouldn’t have gained any interest for a year. I could have saved myself the stress and anxiety and simply had my furnace replaced from the beginning. Not to mention, a lot of companies have been struggling to keep their inventory. A lot of appliances and equipment are on backorder and it’s almost impossible to get something delivered. Thankfully, the HVAC company I was working with had the furnace I needed in stock, but it was a big risk to take. If I would have had to wait for a new furnace to arrive, I would have been without heat during the winter and that would have been miserable. It’s better to plan ahead and face the giant at the beginning rather than the end. It may be harder, but it’s easier in the long run.
