I was actually adopted, but my adoptive parents gave me something my mother wanted me to have at the age of 16.
It was a letter that told me a lot about what happened and why she didn’t raise me.
She talked about my father and how he was a courageous hero serving in the military, but he unfortunately passed away in the war. She talked about how he used to be an HVAC technician before he joined the military. She was saying how she wished so much that he just kept on with his career as an HVAC technician, but he felt he could make a difference if he served in the military. So evidently, my father was a skilled HVAC technician who decided to bet a Veteran, but he didn’t make it. It was very sad but I never knew either of them. She also provided contact information for a way to get a hold of her if I wanted to reach out. I ended up reaching out and we actually had a pretty good talk. While I was upset that she didn’t choose to take care of her own son, I guess I could understand because she was struggling so bad. So we started hanging out and talking regularly so we could better get to know each other. It was kind of awkward because she kept saying how I would make a fine HVAC technician just like my father, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to work in the heating and cooling industry. That was something for me to think about.
