It was my idea to go all the way to the Sunshine State for spring break.
Vicki and Sabrina wanted to go to the shore, but I thought we would have a lot more fun going all the way to the beach. Since it was my idea, I offered to drive. We took my car and filled the trunk with all of our suitcases, shoes, makeup bags, and supplies. Vicki and I took turns driving for the first few hours. We left town after dinner and missed most of the rush hour traffic. By the time the sun went down, the temperatures were falling and things were really cooling off. We didn’t turn on the AC until the morning. We were two hours from our destination when we realized that the AC was not working. It was pretty warm outside, and I didn’t know if the lack of AC would affect any other parts of the vehicle. We drove the final two hours to our destination and I parked my car in the garage. I called a mobile mechanic to come look at the AC, because I had a credit card for emergency purposes. The mechanic quickly realized that one of the wires was loose. He added a small harness to tighten the wire and that fixed the AC problem. I didn’t know if I would spend $10 or $1,000, but I knew my friends and I could not drive home without AC. I’m thankful that we didn’t run into any more problems the rest of the trip. The drive home was free of worry as well.
