Our family made a big decision to switch the brand of air filters we had been using for over a decade. When it was just my husband and I living in this house, we were never bothered by the air quality, so we always purchased cheap and thin air filters. These air filters needed to be replaced frequently, but it was never a big deal if we forgot or went a few months past. When we had kids however, things began to change. Postpartum, I realized that I was more sensitive to dust and debri floating around in the air. I was constantly sneezing and my eyes were always watery. It was as if my body could grow an entire human with ease but it couldn’t handle any dust. It didn’t take long for us to notice our children were also sensitive to the dust and debri, so we were forced to find a solution. For starters, we began installing HEPA certified air filters because they were some of the best on the market. HEPA air filters were used in hospitals and schools, so we wanted the same quality for our home. This made a huge difference in our home’s air quality, but we wanted to take things one step further. We also purchased several air purifiers that could be placed around the house. Two went into bedrooms and one went into the living room and they kept running all day long. The air purifiers were able to trap any unwanted pollutants from the air that the HEPA air filters didn’t catch. It was a pricey switch, but we’ve been very pleased with our air quality these days and everyone seems to be much more comfortable.
