When my dad was 25, he started delivering coal from the mines.
He used a horse and buggy for years and years, and then he finally bought a motorized vehicle. My dad started the very first heating company in this region. Now the heating company is going to be closing down after being in business for almost 80 years. My son is the last person to take over the family business and he is ready to retire and move to the ocean. It’s sad to see the heating company closed after being part of this community for so many decades. I thought we would be in the heating business for hundreds of years, and this is the end of a long era. For the past six months, we have been telling all of our customers to find another heating company to service their needs. We did recommend several different carriers in town, because there are a few trusted names in the heating business. We are having a liquidation event next weekend, and we will be closing the showroom floors forever. We still have plenty of items in stock like air conditioners, heat pumps, and gas furnaces. We also have very difficult to find parts for older furnaces, boilers, and heaters. I would like to see all of the items sell, so we don’t have to worry about getting rid of any stock. I don’t mind taking a loss on these heating items and accessories, because I know that our customers will be happy for the savings. They will remember our name fondly, when they talk about the past.
