Last winter we had a real freezing cold night to where we needed to crank the central heating and air conditioning system’s heater all night long without it turning off at all! This was something that did not happen very often, but when it did it was really needed.
Yes it ended up using a lot of energy and raising the electric bill a bit.
But we really had no choice in the matter because it was freezing cold outside and without the cranking of the central heating and air conditioning system unit’s heater we would surely all have died and froze to death. So it was good that the choice was even there to crank the central heating and air conditioning system unit’s heater all night long. Thankfully though this was just a one night thing. Had this been a few weeks or even a month straight of this it would have been real hell on the monthly electric bill. Because that would have used so much energy every single day of the week or month that it would have caused the electric bill to be a few hundred bucks more than what it usually is. But I will not forget that super cold night where the central heating and air conditioning system’s heater had to be cranked all night long! It usually happens only once a year and this so happened to be the very time that it happened this year. It was real crazy.
