I started buying storage units a couple of months ago, and a buddy of mine was into the auctions & he took me with him to see how it worked.
As soon as I saw how the auction process worked, I was sold.
An auction is a lot like a gamble & playing poker, & gambling & playing cards are 2 of my really number one things. Jack & I went to a strange storage choice the following weekend. I bid on an 8 ft storage component that was packed with boxes. I couldn’t see all of the items towards the back of the unit, even though I could easily see a lot of items up front that looked like they could be worth currency. There was furniture, clothing, CDs, & old machines; Some of the items looked like they could be worth currency. One of the items that looked particularly interesting was an old oil gas furnace. I recognized the oil gas furnace instantly, because it resembled a equipment that my Grandfatherrents had in their home. After I cleaned up the storage unit, I took all of the wonderful items to an antique dealer. One of the items was the oil gas furnace. I was hoping to fetch 2 or $300 for that oil gas furnace, however it turned out to be a replica. Even though it looked old, it was from an import store that deals with replicas of antiques. The gas furnace turned out to be worth $25, instead of multiple hundreds of dollars. At that price, it was better to keep the heating system for a Winter time emergency.
