Updating to zone control to save on heating

I am fortunate to be able to handle our entire workload from home, then as long as I have access to the internet, I can complete our task… This allows me to wear our pajamas, set our own minutes and avoid fighting rush minute traffic, however, once I started spending all day at home, I needed to make some changes to our heating and cooling system, but i was unwilling to spend our savings to maintain the entire lake house at the ideal temperature when I’m confined to a single room.

I contacted a local Heating as well as Air Conditioning contractor and invested into a zoning system.

There is a thermostat in each room, allowing me to set independent temperatures. With a zoning system, I can like ideal comfort in our office without affecting the rest of the house. I can target higher or lower temperatures to the study rooms at evening and solve the problem of the study room regularly feeling a little overheated. My heating and cooling system is now far more energy efficient. I don’t heat or cool rooms that are empty, which reduces the workload of the system. It conserves energy and saves money on our energy costs… Plus, the lake house is really more comfortable, however zoning caters to personal preference, but my kids can turn the temperature up or down in their study rooms without getting into an fight. Because the people I was with and I aren’t putting as much strain on the gas furnace and air conditioner unit, I can expect fewer malfunctions and a longer lifespan from the system. I savor that I don’t need to get up from our desk in the middle of a workday to make adjustments to temperature. Through a smart thermostat, I have access from an app on our smartphone and laptop.
