We might get radiant heated floors at a later time

Recently a neighbor of mine moved into a household with radiant heated floors and, I have to admit, they were extremely nice! I seriously enjoyed not having my feet freezing on the hardwood floor & she said it was absolutely cheaper on a yearly basis to heat her household.

She told me that she didn’t even realize the household had radiant floor heating when she bought it but that it has been a delightful benefit. This all just sounded so cool! The moment I got back to my household, I asked my fiance what she thought about us getting radiant floor heating & she said she would actually think about it. Turns out, it’s an immense hassle! First & foremost, in order to install radiant floor heating, you have to rip up your existing floor. I get that this might not be shocking to a lot of people, but for me it didn’t even cross my mind that I would have to tear everything up! Secondly, I realized it would be extravagant, but I didn’t realize it would cost me less money to substitute my entire gas heating device! Hydraulic systems were recommended over electric, but this type of radiant floor heating was the most extravagant of all! It was just too much work to get radiant heat flooring for our household. My fiance suggested that maybe if we get our next household built from the ground up, we would consider radiant floor heating but for right now we would just keep heating & cooling costs low with prudent practices & hold off on the radiant floor heating.
