Wooden Tables Can Last for Years

When my daughter was still a teenager, she phoned me one day and asked me one day if there was anything made out of wood that I would want for Christmas.

She then told me she was starting a new hobby – making things out of wood. I really thought she meant something like a candle holder, but to be quite a smart aleck, I made a suggestion that reflected my newfound interest in southwest style. Well, I didn’t think anything else of it, and then Christmas Eve, she and her boyfriend pulled up in his pickup truck with some natural wood furniture for my family room. It was a wooden table, and that was the start of my exciting adventure through custom built furniture. It has been at least a decade since I got that wooden table, and it still stands proud at the end of my leather couch. Wooden tables that are well built can last for years; I imagine most people who own solidly constructed wooden tables will probably tire of them before they are worn out. Over the next couple of years, I began building my southwest style house. After the wooden table, I next purchased a leather couch in a rustic brown color. Then, I added a coffee table and sturdy leather chairs that would be right at home in the desert southwest. My guests rarely fail to comment on the unique custom built furniture that creates a southwest sparkler right here in the southeast, and I enjoy entertaining where I know my friends are comfortable and where I know my first wooden table will still be standing tall and proud long after I am gone.
