Friend buying their first house and debating whether to get central air conditioning

I am getting to the age where a lot of my friends are buying houses.

Most of my friends live in their own apartments or their own homes but I still live with my parents.

I’m trying to save up a decent amount of money and pay off as much of my student loans as I can so I can live in a house that I want to live in and not have to worry about scrambling for money because I still need to pay for my student loans. I have about a year-and-a-half until I’m done paying my student loans. One of my best friends just bought their first house. I thought that my friend jumped the gun on buying this house simply because the location was very convenient to where she worked. Her house is extremely small and pretty old. I thought that the house was going to come with a lot of features, but it did not. The house does not have central air conditioning. When I went to help my friend unpack and move in, it was in the middle of summer and we were sweating. She was asking whether or not she should install central air conditioning by the time everything was moved in. I told her that to save money she really doesn’t have to install central air conditioning. It’s just going to cost her a few grand and since her house is so small she could install small window air conditioning units. Since her house is so small, installing window AC units was not only going to save her money but it would cool her house very quickly.
