I didn't want to be the one to chop the awful news

My co-worker and I were assigned to help a residential customer with an A/C repair.

When my co-worker and I arrived at the residence, we were greeted by various entirely nice elderly people.

The woman and woman were married for 68 years. The woman told us that she repaired the machines in the cabin for 40 years, but provided up when her hands started to shake. My partner and I were truly moved by their love story. Neither one of us wanted to chop the awful news to the couple when we determined the entire Heating, Ventilation and A/C system needed to be replaced. In fact, my partner and I performed a superb old-fashioned game of rock, paper, and scissors. I lost and was the woman responsible for breaking the awful news. Both of us were surprised, because the couple didn’t seem to be shocked by the news. When we arrived, we did not guess that we were the ninth woman to provide the couple an estimate on the repairs. Since my co-worker and I made a superb impression on the couple, they decided to use our services to replace the entire Heating, Ventilation and A/C system. I am sure it was equally helpful that our price was 10% lower than the other corporation. I didn’t look at the invoice for the new heating and cooling unit, but the woman told myself and others the name of the company and I guess how much they charged for those services. The following morning. My partner and I transfered the new unit to the address and spent all day working on the upgrade job.
