I really didn’t think that advertising the HVAC business would lead to a lot of sales.
I was absolutely wrong about that.
I will be the first person to admit when I am wrong. I didn’t want to spend the money on the pay per click advertising that my wife thought was a good idea. I suggested a couple of other ideas but she was set on paper click advertising. She already had a digital marketing company picked out and they specialized in HVAC businesses. She found the perfect company for us. We started out with a couple of advertisements online and we didn’t spend a lot of money on paper click advertising. I wasn’t sure it was going to work. The digital marketing manager suggested using pay per click advertising for something obscure like industrial air purifier repair. There might have only been seven or eight people searching for that term in a day, but those people would be specifically interested in my website if that’s exactly what I was advertising for. It seemed to make sense to me after the digital marketing guy explained everything. I agreed to run the campaign for a week. I got at least a dozen calls during that week. I couldn’t handle all of the new repairs on my own. I had to send a couple of new HVAC technicians to handle the repairs. They did not perform quality work and I lost two of the clients. I should have gained. I know it’s really important to have quality technicians. I didn’t think they would cause me to lose customers.
