Ruined our water heater

My house does not have access to town water.

  • We have a water well situated on the property that provides a decent supply.

Although all of us never need to worry about the cost of our water use or running out of water, the high mineral content causes lots of issues. Our pipes and appliances clog with lime, calcium and rust and need to be replaced more suddenly than anticipated. The sinks, tubs and toilets become discolored. Our faucets and showerheads get pitted and corroded. Towels, bed sheets and clothing wear out faster, fade and take on an orange tint. There’s even problems with our hair, teeth and skin because of the strenuous water. We don’t dare drink it. Because of the quality of the water supply, all of us deal with frequent problems with our water heater! Just now, I turned on the kitchen faucet and there was no water. When I headed to the basement to figure out what was wrong, I heard water spraying. I discovered the warm warm water was flooding out of the water tank. I suddenly shut off the water to the house. Because this was after familiar business hours, I needed to wait until the following day to purchase a current water tank. I was not ecstatic to realize that the price of water furnaces has risen a lot. With no other choice, I bought the lavish water heater and carried it to the basement. I stood in the flood water while struggling to detach the rusted tank and install the current model. The current water oil furnace worked well for a few days, gradually, the water from our faucets began to turn black. This was caused by the anode rod in the tank. The anode rod is designed to detach harmful contaminants. Our water is so overrun with contaminants that the anode rod needs to be taken out, which negates the water tank’s warranty.
