Would you rather go to a restaurant with no A/C or too much A/C?

My Mom absolutely hates when we go to a restaurant and the air conditioning is blasting right on us.

  • I see where she is coming from, because it really is hard to enjoy your food when you are freezing.

She usually asks the staff if we can move to another area or if they can turn the thermostat up. I usually remind my Mom that it is unlikely they will turn the thermostat up just for us when they need to keep all of the customers, staff, and chefs cool. We usually end up moving tables to an area where it is not as freezing. The last time this happened, I asked my Mom if she would rather eat at a restaurant where the air conditioning was extremely strong or a restaurant where there was no air conditioning at all. We had a long talk about this and eventually came to an agreement. She stated that one of the reasons why she hates eating in restaurants where the air conditioning is blasting is because she wants to just relax when she goes out to eat, since she does not go out often. I can understand that. However, she stated that she thinks it would be much worse to eat at a restaurant if there was no air conditioning in the summer if we could not sit outside. Eating at a restaurant with no air conditioning could be miserable if we are sweating when waiting for our food. No one wants to be too hot when they are eating hot food.
