In the middle of July, my wife and I always celebrate our wedding anniversary.
We got married in the middle of summer, when the outside temperatures were extremely hot and humid.
I wanted a summer wedding on the beach with the waves crashing behind us and the smell of salt in the air. We had a small ceremony and invited our best friends to enjoy the moment. I will never forget that day because it was so amazing and special. When we checked into our room, the clerk at the front desk was rude and discourteous. The kid was barely old enough to drink alcohol legally. My hubby was very annoyed with the desk clerk, especially after we needed to change rooms. Our room smelled really bad and the AC unit was rusty and dirty. We paid premium prices for our room and neither one of us wanted to stay there. The AC unit looked like it was twenty years old. The desk clerk turned up his nose when we requested a new room with clean sheets and a clean AC unit. I really thought my hubby was going to say something mean or nasty, but he kept his cool very well. The clerk found us another room, but I think it’s the last time that we will ever visit that particular establishment again. The amenities weren’t as nice as we hoped, especially given the huge price tag on the resort. The fitness center was locked most of the time we were there. The pool was filled with guests, and we had to walk about 500 yards to get to the beach.
