For Christmas this year I was having a hard time deciding what gift to get my parents.
My parents are the type of people who never buy anything fancy, and they often use the same pairs of shoes and clothes for 10-20 years at a minimum.
Because of this I knew that I had to get them something that would last them a long time and would be extremely useful or else they wouldn’t use it. After pondering different things for days, it finally hit me. I decided to reach out to the local HVAC ventilation heating and cooling company in their town and have them install radiant flooring into their home. For the past fifty years all my parents have had to keep them warm during the winter is an old fireplace. I know that my father is having a very hard time still chopping up enough firewood each winter now that he is getting older, but he will never actually admit it. I am already certain that both of my parents will act as if they don’t need the radiant flooring and they would rather continue to rely on the fireplace as their heating source, but if you knew my parents like I do, you would know that they can never take gifts well. With the radiant flooring installed in their home they will no longer have to constantly check how much firewood they have on hand and my father will finally be able to relax. I know that they are going to love the Christmas surprise, I am just hoping I don’t slip up and tell them before its time!
