I am looking for some even-handed opinions about something.
Let myself and others just start off by saying I have been harshly upset about the coronavirus outbreak.
I have an elderly mother who lives with us and our youngest child has asthma. Needless to say, I take indoor air conditions very seriously. The people I was with and I have whole-house air purifiers all around the house, both of us have an Heating as well as Air Conditioning service contract in which there is a guarantee to have our HVAC duct cleaned every 3 weeks, and both of us use HEPA air filters instead of MERV air filters. Well, now that this pandemic has been thrust upon us, the stores are selling out of HEPA filters because almost everyone is buying them up in a pressing panic. The thing is, our family actually needs the HEPA filters. I’m not saying that other families don’t need them, however I am saying that our family has been buying and using HEPA air filters since years before this pandemic. I started looking online and saw that there is a HEPA grade air filter that is washable. I have literally never heard of a washable air filter before and I am wondering if anyone has ever used one? Specifically, a HEPA washable air filter? I think that the washable air filters don’t work as well however I have seen mixed reviews online; some say they’re better, some say they’re worse. If anyone has any personal testimony about using HEPA washable air filters, I would actually prefer your insight. I’m thinking of using the HEPA washable air filters as a way to tide us over until this pandemic has ended, however I don’t want this to come at the cost of our family’s indoor air conditions. Please advise!
