A few years back I took my nephews out camping with me.
We were out exploring the forest when one of them found a strange looking air conditioner hanging from a tree.
I climbed up the tree and was able to untangle the air conditioner from the branches, then I gently lowered it down to the ground. I took the air conditioner back to our tent and looked it over to see if it was worth anything. It was a very strange looking air conditioner, and I had never seen one like this before. I am very good at fixing HVAC units and restoring them, so I figured I’d take a look inside this air conditioner. After looking at the internal engine and fans, I realized that this air conditioner was extremely unique and valuable. I had no idea where this air conditioner came from, but I was sure that if I restored it and sold it to an HVAC lab, they would buy it for a very good price. When the boys and I headed back home, I brought the air conditioner with us. When I got to my shop I took the air conditioner about and fixed it to the best of my ability. I could remember fixing other air conditioners, furnaced, and even boilers in the past, but nine of them were like this one. When I took the air conditioner to an HVAC tech lab, they offered me 25 thousand dollars for it! They wouldn’t tell me why it was so valuable, but I sold the air conditioner and left a lot richer. I still wonder at times what it was that made the air conditioner so valuable.
