As anyone who has taken a science class already knows, heat rises.
We’ve been having some problems with that simple fact this year because there is something going on with the heating system at our house.
It’s almost as if the furnace is somehow neglecting the rest of the house and now it’s only heating up the upstairs bedroom for some reason. It’s super annoying, because my heating bills are really expensive, but yet half the time I end up having to open the window in the bedroom because it’s so hot that I can’t even get to sleep. I think that it’s super annoying that the rest of the house is super cold most of the time and yet the bedroom feels like the inside of a boiling hot furnace. We have been having some problems with the heating system and I finally called up one of our local HVAC companies to see if there was something that they could do to fix the problem for us. The HVAC technician that I spoke with on the phone said that to him, it sounded like there was something going on with our ventilation system and not specifically with the furnace itself. He said that if you have leaks or cracks in your ventilation system, then it can make your heating in one area of the house feel much warmer than in other parts of the house. I thought that what he said made a lot of sense, and I made an appointment for them to come and check out the ventilation system. I may need to get some ductwork cleaning and ductwork sealing done.
